With 4 out of order CPU cores and a DX11 on a single 32nm chip It's destined to give Intel quite a challenge. The CPU is a STAR CPU core shrunk down to 32nm and given power optimizations with 1MB L2 Cache with sub 3GHz speeds with 2.5 watts to 25 watts in power consumption.

AMD's "Llano" is due out sometime in 2011.

Anyone who buys a copy of Office 2007 between March and September will be eligible for a free upgrade to the proper edition of Office 2010 they qualify for.

Customers will be able to download or order a DVD (for a small fee) once Office 2010 is available to the public (expected sometime July) Customers must have purchased and activated their copy within the elected time frame in order to be eligible.

As of now TAP members are testing out the latest bits of Office 2010 RC, no other information was given on what changes or any build numbers but may be build 4730 as it was thought to be a release candidate build. Build 4734 is the latest build and is thought to belong in the RTM Escrow branch.

First screenshots and videos are available via the Chromium website and the UI is one of the main factors for it.

In the last days, everyone was looking for news about the Apple iPad, so the no one was watching other companies like Microsoft or Google. The later one has now used this fact and showed concepts of their Tablet PC. The concept reminds us of the iPad and here, we also do not have a 16:9 screen. The Actual ChromeOS development would also fit perfectly in the concept.

Rumor Mill
According to some peope said, Google and HTC are going to manufacturer a Tablet PC. If you look to the Nexus One, which was made by HTC, it is not so unlikely. But there is no real proove for the the tablet either.
Design
But there is some real change in the project. The Chromium Project works together with Glen Murphy, a great Designer. The User Interface Concepts are mainly to get the virtual keyboard done. Its also about Multi Touch Scaling.

BUT
Never forget, this is all just a rumor. It does not mean, this tablet really has to be released!

"Microsoft Corp. today announced record revenue of $19.02 billion for the second quarter ended Dec. 31, 2009, a 14% increase from the same period of the prior year. Operating income, net income and diluted earnings per share for the quarter were $8.51 billion, $6.66 billion and $0.74 per share, which represented increases of 43%, 60% and 57%, respectively, when compared with the prior year period."

Windows 7 played a major, major role in the revenue jump. "Exceptional demand for Windows 7 led to the positive top-line growth for the company," says Peter Klein, chief financial officer at Microsoft, "Our continuing commitment to managing costs allowed us to drive earnings performance ahead of the revenue growth."

Windows 7 has seen tremendous sales, with more than 60 million Windows 7 licenses leaving Redmond during the second quarter, making it the fastest selling operating system in history according to Microsoft. "This is a record quarter for Windows units," says Kevin Turner, chief operating officer at Microsoft, "We are thrilled by the consumer reception to Windows 7 and by business enthusiasm to adopt Windows 7."

Interestingly, Apple hasn't updated the pricing for the UK version of the page. Clicking on pricing shows the six versions of the iPad in US dollars with a line saying that "International pricing will be announced at a later date."

The iPad has been launched less than one week ago and has already generated significant amount of reviews and comments, both negative and positive, online with some saying that it is only an oversized iPod Touch while others reckon it might be the saviour of the publishing industry.

This ties up with our previous estimate (between March 2010 and June 2010) for the launch of the iPad and could point to the wish from the Cupertino-based company to have a simultaneous product launch rather than a staggered one.

We expect the cheapest iPad (16GB and WiFi only) to cost as little as £385 with the more expensive model (64GB, 3G) costing as much as £639 including delivery, significantly more than the US pricing.

A number of mobile network operators - including Orange and O2 - are rumoured to be buying micro SIM cards, the only compatible format, for the iPad.

Oracle now focuses on Java, does not touch MySQL and Does absolutly not care about Open Source


One of the main questions in the controversy about the Fusion of Sun and Oracle was the future of Sun. Many people think, Oracle could harm Open Source Projects and kill MySQL. There is just a bit of information available.

Java
One of the most important things for Oracle is Java. It seems as if Oracle wants to rush with Java Version 7 Standard Edition (SE) and release it as soon as possible to give multicore support.
The Mobile Version (ME) should be way more like SE, according to Oracle. This means, Oracle wants to fusion the Mobile and Standard APIs.

Oracle sees “Netbeans”, a Java IDE for lightweight development and promotes their own IDE – JDeveloper.

Another Question is the Supportquestion. According to Oracle, MySQL development should not be touched, yet they plan better support. Also a good thing about this is that they do not fusion MySQL with Oracle DB. Many People feared, Oracle could let MySQL die and only Support Oracle DB.

Office
Oracle has no real plans for Openoffice.org – Sun’s free Office Suite – yet, but it is said, they will keep the free community version alive but they did not say anything about their support or engagement for it. Oracles main focus is still Enterprise Customers. So they try to integrate Sun Products to Oracle Produts. It is also said, they want to release a Cloud version of OpenOffice.org, but no one knows how many developers will work on this version.

Also Sun’s Unix Devirat, Solaris, will be continued, but Oracle plans to use it in HighEnd Business – on Clusters to be precicely, as they already supply their only Linux to small servers.
Up to now, Oracle has not yet commented Open Solaris, aswell as any plans about Java’s Open Source part. It could be, that we have a closed source Java like the .net Languages soon.

This is perhaps our earliest look at Windows 8 before It's officially branded, with a strange file called ie9props.propdesc in the Internet Explorer folder.

As you can see there's been no UI changes or any real changes that are noticeable upfront. 7700.0.100122-1900_x64fre_client_en-us-GRMCXFRE_EN_DVD.iso is the file name and you should keep your eyes out for a possible leak at a file sharing site near you grimace.png

iPad The tablet device from Apple is already the most anticipated device in the gadgets history. But some things can already be said about this new tablet:

1.The device is for real. The new iPadcould very well be a new iPhone with much larger display and high-end capabilities. Most of the people who are using the iPhone, do not expect any other ground breaking device similar to iPhone for now. The screen is large enough for videos and movies, the phone is capable enough to handle few tasks at a time (maybe it has even the possibility of parallel running apps) and no one is certainly going to replace a high-end PC or a netbook from his workspace, for an iPhone. Even the statements from Steve Jobs that it will be the biggest thing he would reveal, are satisfying enough to confirm that iPad is coming.

2. Most of the rumored/leaked pics are not real.

3. It will run an OS very similar to iPhone. Yes, most of the tech blogs are already reporting from their Web logs that a new and different version, similar to the coming iPhone OS 4.0 is appearing in their stats. The new version of iPhone OS will surely support multi-touch capabilities and multitasking. Possible that Apple is releasing iPhone OS 4.0 just for the iPad ?

4. The screen size and pricing details: iPad will have something larger than atleast 10 inches. For the pricing details, the $1000 tag seems very costly for the recession hit market.
Maybe some of these theories will be confirmed on the 27th January Event of Apple.

Here are 10 reasons that can make this device a big success:

1. OLED display: But we surely can expect hd quality on LED.
2. Resolution and pixels: Maybe the device will have 720p natively and can support 1080p via external screen.
3. E-book reader: All the current E-Book readers in market are grayscale and dull. Would be nice to read E-book in color.
4. Connectivity:It’s very likely that iPad will have built-in support for Wi-fi and 3G network. A fixed 3G plan with a network provider like Verizon or AT&T will make it more interesting.
5. Camera: It will definitely have a front and a backside camera. This to take pictures in good quality and gives the possibility for viedo-chat.
6. Multi-touch: The iPhone doesn’t have it for now. What can be more interesting than browsing iTunes with multi-touch features?
7. Multi-tasking: This should be a minimum for a tablet.
8. Battery-life: If the iPad should be an alternative for a netbook it should have a long-lasting battery-life. Atleast lasting for 2 hours initially, that too with movie and gaming.
9. Apps: iPad will support the apps already launched in the iPhone store. There won't be new category of apps for iPad in the beginning.
10. Price: To have success the new iPad should not cost more than $1000. Otherwise no one will pay this price to get a pimped iPhone


If these things are respected for the iPad going to be announced at the Apple event on Wednesday it yould become a great success.

More than 1 year ago it has been reported that Apple had been working on Mac OS X 10.7 for over a month. But recently, MacRumors has reported that the signatures of Mac OS X 10.7 are already appearing in Web logs from Apple-owned IP addresses, on its website.

Until today Apple hasn't confirmed any reports, but there are possible chances that the early Dev release of next OS X maybe released at WWDC, to be held in June 2010.

Sadly, there are not much news about what to expect in OS X 10.7, still there are not much reasons to believe that the new version will bring much updates to Mac OS X Leopard. Maybe it's simlpy a last update of Leopard before a new upcoming OS of Apple.
In this possible OS X 10.7, Apple focuses more on GUI improvements. But, the last Mac OS X 10.6 was a big exception. Maybe we can expect some major improvements this time too, like the inclusion of the Marble interface.

Some days ago it was Twitter, now it’s the Gates Notes. Bill Gates (and staff) recently launched a website dedicated to his passions, interests, and travels.
Named the Gates Notes, the website shows up letters from Gates, photos from worldwide visits, and even books he's reading. Actual postings in the "What I'm Learning" section include links to Global Catastrophes, Trends and Thoughts of Ex-Mister Microsoft.
The website is a platform for the Microsoft co-founder to interact with visitors on a more personal level.
Articles and podcasts on the world’s issues are very informative and nice to read.

Gates also responds to questions from individuals around the world.


Fans of Gates are sure to be pleased with the increased exposure since he left Microsoft in 2008 to dedicate more time to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
